Pine Straw is different than wood mulch or bark. It comes in a bale. Mostly used in the South Eastern part of the US, it has made its way north and is becoming very popular due to its ease of transporting, spreading, and durability. The needles are 6-8 inches long and will last for 2-3 years.  Acidic loving plants do well with this around them.  Each bale covers approx. 40 square feet at 3 inches thick and weighs 15 – 25 lbs.
